Politics from this dummy

I often wonder about politicians. I wonder how you get to be so big headed that you actually think you know better than us ordinary folk. I wonder how you climb so far up your own arse that you think anybody really gives a toss what you think. But most importantly I wonder how you get to that inflated and preposterous position in life where you think you know what should be done and dare to make your stamp on other people's lives.

Very few of our 'leaders' these days have any real life experience. Cameron, Clegg and Milliband haven't done a single days work between them. Oh sure they've been political bum boys, special advisors and all sorts of other crap - but a real days work, I don't think so.

Cameron and Clegg come from privilege. Whilst Milliband comes from eccentric middle class over educated stock where the real world simply didn't exist. How the hell do any of them really think they have enough real life experience to tell us what is best.

But what's really worrying is that, in England, that's where politics is headed and has been for some time. We need real people in politics, with all their faults and sometimes inappropriate words, but real is better than plastic.

Recently we've had a horse meat scandal, people were offended to find out that what they were buying wasn't what it said on the packet. Somehow I think politics and the House of Commons in particular is the same. Silly immature, slow intellect people masquerading as 'real' people. They live in a bubble, they lack the sort of life experience that would be taken as read if they were applying for jobs in industry that pay the same money.

Even on the back benches its much the same. Trades Unionists, lawyers, and charity workers seem to make decisions about how we should live, what it's fair for us to earn, how we pay our taxes and how much we should give to their projects for a 'better Britain'. Yet their ideas do not accord with the mainstream and the worrying thing is they know it and just think they know better.

I truly think a law should be passed that nobody can even stand for parliament unless they've spent at least 10 years in industry and commerce. One thing's for sure, if you ban lawyers from being MP's and acknowledge that all they ever do in Parliament is line the pockets of their colleagues at our expense (the compensation culture Parliament created is a great example of that) the House of Commons would be a better place.

I'm not saying business is virtuous, we all know that isn't true, but if the Labour benches were packed with welders, bus drivers and teachers (as examples) and the Tory benches were full of businessmen we would see real debate that reflected how real people think.

It won't happen of course. The next bunch of candidates are already there; acting as special advisors, party activists and EU secretaries. Parliament will continue to be more and more remote from real people. And sooner or later we'll see people taking to the streets to stop these intuitive beurocrats from ruining our lives through their disconnected policies.

I hope that doesn't happen but I think the lack of connection between real people on both sides of the political divide and those who claim to represent us is wider than its ever been.

They don't learn or listen, how can you when you've never operated in the real world. They play games in Parliament and don't care if that creates poverty, death or just plain depression. They are a bunch of disconnected jumped up little fools and they think we haven't worked it out yet.

Just my view you understand
